More work went into the tailgate than any other part of the car. i had to strip the paint then grind out the dodgy bog job. I used that much bog trying to get it straight again it's not funny. Ive since found a place that produce brand new tailgates, perfectly straight and not that expensive.....After the body work was done, i covered her in undercoat using the low pressure setup i have. After a rub down and yet another tape up i gave her as much sparay putty as my low pressure gun could handle. Rubbed it back then gave it more undercoat. went over it with stop putty to get the little stone chips and rubbed it back and hit it again with more undercoat ready for paint. Just like to point out i'm self taught and if my process is all wrong i'd love some feedback for the next project. (don't tell the Missus)

After applying the topcoat using my brothers compressor and gun, which he kindly delivered for me (3 hour trip). i blocked it back, now heres my mistake-> i used 1200 paper for this process which left big scratches all over which werent apparent til after i polished the clearcoat. It's a bit late by then, well it is on my budget anyway. I think ive worked out to get the finish you're after, save up and get someone else to do it. It was a lot of hard work and time i could have used fishing or cracking a tinny or both. This car was never meant to be a project. It was meant to be a quick coat of jam and get it on the road for our business, but i just couldnt help myself. and just like the government, my budget has run out...lol
