The old girl is nearly finished.

I recently purchased an auto transmission from the wreckers including all the bits to convert her from a manual.I also had to buy another alternator as the one on it is not charging now. As soon as i do this i will be putting it in for a RWC. Ive lowered it 2 inches all round with Nolathane lowering blocks on the rear and King springs on the front and it sits quite nicely. I replaced the original steering wheel with a new SAAS wheel i picked up from Ebay. Replaced the old tail-lights with some new fancy Altezza ones which sets the rear off well. I had a sticker cut for the rear screen with the words 'Skerek Entertainment'. Whilst i was installing the new front lowered springs i noticed there were worn bushes (to be expected on a 20 year old car) so i have replaced the sway bar links, sway bar link bushes, sway bar mount bushes and the suspension arm to chassis rod bushes. The shockies on the car have been replaced at some time and are in good order so the car should drive like new. I removed the old oil (what a nightmare) i think the D.H. who put the oil filter on did it up to 100 ft lbs of torque. The oil was soo black, i'd never seen anything like it before. I replaced the air-cleaner and threw a new set of plugs at it. it runs heaps better now

UPDATE: I took the ute for a spin for the first time as a T-bar auto. The box even shifts smoother than our VX commodore. Did ford get a prop off a cessna for the fan? geez it's loud!!!! anyway, After the stuff up of not removing the spigot bearing and then taking me forever (2 weekends) to get it out, i now have it in and the T-bar hooked up. Just gotta change to the auto brake pedal and fix a water and an oil leak and the handbrake cable and i'll be sending her for a RWC... Will this saga ever end? it's a Ford, i suspect not!!!

Well i took it for a RWC and it failed. I think the tester was expecting a 21 year old car to be like brand new instead of pre-loved. After replacing the key barrel on the ignition, the steering column cover, lower control arms including new bushes and ball joints, upper ball joints, inner tie rods, outter tie rods, pitman arm and the other arm thingy, now it desperately needs a wheel alignment. made the wiper squirters work, fixed the power steering pipes to the chassis, fixed the leak in the power steering hose and $700 later it's ready for round 2. If it doesn't pass this time i think i'm gonna have a nervous breakdown.

Now to save for rego!!    AGAIN!!

I painted the tonneau tags the same colour as the car trying for a more custom look but that was a fail. lol... using supercheap paint around the windows was a fail too

Note to self: self, don't use supercheap paint on engine parts either. Degreaser gets hungry

The interior was a cacky brown colour. I changed it using a plastic and vinyl paint

Some D.H. painted these wheels completely black. It has taken about 5 hours per wheel to get them to this state

This shows how low it is now

Here's a pic showing the new black Altezza style tail-lights
