When i got it, it was a bit tired. had rust in the usual xf ute places but still pretty good for its age. I took off the doors and guards. i had 2 spare guards which were straight. i removed all the paint and repaired the rust. the doors on it were absolutely rustless but had a few minor dents. i removed the paint from them and straightened them out with a bit of filler. sanded the doors and jams and gave them a touch of undercoat. Then i repaired the rust in the rear wheel arches. That wasnt much fun but should hold it for a few years. I sold my mig a few years ago so the old pop gun came in handy. didnt think i'd have soo much trouble scrounging for a piece of metal seems how i used to be a sheetmetal worker. At this stage the car was only gonna be a quick do up to cart our gear around. didn't realise it was gonna turn into an epic event and i'd still be doing her up 12 months later
